Table plan! Reservations open!
The table plan, is below. (Its a thumbnail, click on it, for the big picutre) There are 42 tables.
It was decided by the committee to take reservations per table of 10, not per couple. So, please get your table-mates ready!!!
Our objective is to have as many Group of 82 members and their wives [or partners] at the dance. However, as long as the table is reserved by a member the rest need not be members [Thomians, Trinitains… all are welcome!].
Signup (book) a table by leaving a comment with the table number. Please say you are definite. Somebody will colour the tables sold ever few days. But if you reading the booking, you will know what tables are sold. Seems simple, because its just 42. Anyway thats the best I can do for ‘online reservations’ right now.

[If you an admin, this is how you can update the TP. Get the plan up. Download it by right clicking it. Open it in a paint/draw program. Use the paintbrush tool, on red, to mark the booked tables. Just dot ’em. Then save with the new date in the name and Upload it to the box just below this one, by finding it on your machine through ‘browse’ — (its a button right there) then hitting Upload, and then finally ‘send to editor.” It will pop in this window, but may up on top. C&p it, down below, and once its in, delete the previous TP. Sounds stupid? Laughing… it works.]

I noticed a ‘classified’ section in table plan. with two names. are these for people who don’t want tables? if so i think its much needed at this point, because not every one wants to be responsible for a table, or can afford the out lay.
i think it was a good idea, initially, to get thing going, and make sure of the financial viability of the DD. But I think it may be time to open up, the plan further, and allow two seats each, at the unsold tables to be taken up. Because inclusively should also be valued.

Silva this classified business is very good. Machung I think we have to send a few email to the groups promoting it. Most of the guys do not come to the site. I think it is very important to promote a bit now. We have lot more tables left. I am getting worried.
Atty said he could promote this with the other RC groups. What do you guys think of that, before doing it the few promotional emails are needed. PJ you would be the best guy to draft a few. Will you please find time for it.
Yes, we should publicize it more. Harsha did announce it at the Stag — both the website and the DD. I think what we need to do is publicize that booking for couples are now open.
Also, we may wish to consider a promotion — two free tickets, for one lunky couple, if the booking is made between 15th – 31st July. or some thing like that. Just a thought.
I can write a short email/letter this weekend, if it is needed.
i think many are still not aware of how to make booking on the net [this site]. perhaps we should do 3 things: [1] email everyone our list; [2] send a letter to the list and therefter [3] insert and advert in the papers. only after that we should open it up to all.

Machung Silva, We will do all this. But firstly we have to get PJ’s letter sent this weekend. We will give some time and see the response. Then we will start calling some of the guys and do some promotions. Also we should send a letter to the group mentioning about the dance. That way we will go to a larger number of members. Because lot of people do not visit the site. What we should do is to give a phone number and get the confirmation. Then we could get a table reserved in the site.
Boys!! There is a big problem that we have not address yet. This has been raised by the Big Chinaman. He is asking where he is going to sit. He wants a special table for the Signals. I know quitter few of them but not to mention the names. I think we will have to have to consult SHANTHA or get some promotion ladies. We should take p this matter seriously in the next meeting.

Silva, Please take this point up in the next meeting. According to Pinna the hall is quite big and you could easily put in some more tables. Any way we should talk about it.
Dhammika Attygalla called and wonted me to book another table close to his. But there are no tables around. I guess for the time been I will mark table no: 19. If there is a change plan he would work it out once he is here.
